What we hold about organisers

Name, email address, and whatever else you choose to add — phone, address, a photograph, links to your club. Your password is stored only as a hash, so nobody here can read it. We also keep a record of the payments you have made and the sessions you have run.

What we hold about players

This is the part worth reading carefully, because it is about people who never signed up for anything.

When somebody checks in to an open play they give a display name and a skill rating, and the board records the games they played and the scores. If they checked in as a guest there is no account, no email address and no password — just a name on a session, tied to the device they used so they can be recognised if they come back.

That name is visible to everyone else at that session, because a queue that does not show whose turn it is would not work. It is not published outside the session.

Who it is for

The organiser of a session can see who checked in to it. The operator of this site can see everything, because somebody has to be able to fix a wrong score and confirm a payment. Nobody else.

We do not sell anything to anybody, and there is no advertising network on this site.

How long we keep it

Session results are kept so that standings and history keep working. If an organiser deletes a session, its players and games go with it.

What you can ask for

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be removed. For a player who checked in as a guest, the quickest route is usually the organiser of that session, who can remove anyone from it. Otherwise contact the operator of this site.

Cookies

A session cookie to keep you signed in, and, for guests, a token that remembers which player you are on a board you have already joined. Nothing is used for tracking or advertising.
